About Oakview
Here for the Community
Started in the early 80s at the homes of Bill and Norma Fonti, Ron and Linda Sharp, and a small group of followers, the doors of Oakview Baptist Church opened in 1982, led by Pastor Holms. Located off Lodge Road, among a profuse canopy of California oaks, Oakview has enjoyed over forty-five years of fellowship, where many families continue to grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Today, Pastor Dale Fink continues to lead followers of Jesus, blessing the church for almost twenty years. Oakview remains a place of worship for families in the foothill communities of Auberry, Prather, Tollhouse, Shaver, and Clovis. Activities outside of Sunday worship include a men’s breakfast group, a women’s breakfast group, Wednesday Bible Study, Sunday School, and Vacation Bible School.
Thanks to the blessings of God and the dedicated work of the church fellowship, the current campus is flourishing this year with a new playground and remodel of classrooms. When finished, a new patio will provide a shaded space under the oaks for classes and gatherings in God’s foothills of the Sierra.
The current atmosphere of Oakview is one of honesty and playfulness, because even Jesus was funny and enjoyed life. At Oakview, you will find a place where we encourage each other and lean into God’s truth.
If you find yourself in our neck of the woods, please come, grow, laugh, and walk with us, as we follow our Creator and His Son.

“I felt welcome the first time I walked through the doors of the church.”
Meet Our Senior Pastor, Dale Fink
Who is Pastor Dale, and does he practice what he preaches?
Greetings!
My wife, Lindy and I have been married for almost 35 years. We moved here with our six kiddos, when our oldest was 11 and our youngest was just 7 months old. They grew up here in our church, gaining firsthand experience and opportunities to put their faith into action. Currently the oldest four are married and involved in their home churches, while our younger two still orbit home in university and gap years.
Life at Oakview has definitely not been static. We have had many twists and turns that have challenged us and grown our faith deeper in the Lord. One of the blessings has been Pastor Mike joining us in serving our community. The dynamic life the Holy Spirit leads at Oakview keeps us all on our toes!
I got my Master of Divinity at what is now the Sioux Falls Seminary in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. While we are native Californian’s the Lord led us away to attend seminary and gain pastoring experience, and then back to California, where I served a mid-sized church as Associate Pastor before the call to come to Oakview in 2006.
I am also blessed to serve as Chaplain in the Civil Air Patrol [Air Force Auxiliary] since 2010, at our local Fresno composite Squadron. For several years now, I have also served as a local hospice chaplain.
We enjoy traveling, though much of our travel these days is to see our kids and their families. All our married kids and our grandkids live out of state!
My undergraduate degree is in History, which I love. I also love having fun with my family, camping, and trips; this led us to many years of Civil War reenactments, including the 150th at Gettysburg. These days I enjoy online gaming with my kids and spending time on our property.
I truly appreciate living in the Sierras and not in a big city. We raised our family here and the people of Oakview are our extended family. I look forward to meeting you and as the Lord leads, to assist Him in helping you grow in your faith!
